Following the Gate’s run of Abi Morgan’s LOVESONG, the Gate Theatre is proud to announce a new production of THE PILLOWMAN by Martin Mc Donagh returns in a gripping new production, directed by Olivier Award winner Lyndsey Turner and starring Fra Fee.
A totalitarian regime.
A missing child.
A killer on the loose.
A writer is arrested when a series of murders, bearing a chilling resemblance to his own stories, come to light. As two detectives chase a confession, they discover a truth much stranger than fiction.
From Martin McDonagh, the award-winning writer of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Banshees of Inisherin and In Bruges comes a savage tale about the stories we tell to keep the monsters at bay.
THE PILLOWMAN opens 9th July 2025, with previews from 4th July.

On Sunday 8th June at 6.30pm, to coincide with LOVESONG, Susannah De Wrixon will present i carry your heart: songs of love and joy, an evening full of nostalgia and romance, song and spoken word, featuring Jim Doherty, and the Delmain String Quartet.
The concert will evoke joy, love and laughter with poetry from Mary Oliver, e.e. cummings, Dorothy Parker, and more. Music will range from the Great American Songbook to original compositions, featuring work from Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Tom Lehrer amongst others.
