Coming in June, we’re delighted to announce a series of GATECRASH events for Pride Month.
LIVE AT THE GATE THEATRE: ROSIE O’DONNELL & OUT LOUD – On 19th June, the Gate Theatre is proud to present a fundraiser performance of COMMON KNOWLEDGE from the incomparable ROSIE O’DONNELL. A legend of the screen and comedy circuit, Rosie will perform a hilarious stand-up in her new adopted hometown. Rosie’s set will be followed by OUT LOUD; an event focused on Trans voices. The evening will open with a set from rising Irish comedian Becky Cheatle. This very special evening will be a fundraiser for three local LGBTQ+ organisations: TENI, BelongTo, and ShoutOut, and it will be MC’d by this year’s Dublin Pride Parade Grand Marshall, ShoutOut’s Ruadhán Ă“ CrĂodáin.

MUSICALS MAYHEM – On 20th June stars the beloved Le Gateau Chocolat. Imagine a Music Box, a Chocolate Box, a Juke Box, and a Dress-Up Box all collide and burst into life… their name would be Le Gateau Chocolat! Your favourite Black, bearded, and bass singing drag icon is Gatecrashing Dublin for the very first time with a night Musical Theatre madness. Expect mountains of laughs, a stream of nostalgia, and a tug at the heartstring as Gateau crams every single musical you know and love into an hour of high kicks, high drag and high glamour.Â

HAUS OF WIG – On 21st June, Ireland’s fiercest drag collective ignites the Gate with their genre-defying spectacular The Hausparty. Run by artists and performers NAOMI DIAMOND, DONNA FELLA, and SHAQIRA KNIGHTLY, Haus of Wig began as a competition night at the Grand Social and has since evolved into one of Dublin most boundary-pushing nights. The Haus of WIG are a compelling display of the power and potential of drag performance, having gone from humble beginnings as a competition night in the Workman’s Club, to recently supporting international pop sensation Chappell Roan at the Dublin stop of her Midwest Princess tour. Also featuring special guests ANZIETY, AVATAR GUILLE, BONNIE BOUX, DR. COUNT EVIL, and VICKY VOLLTZ.

On the 21st and 22nd June, we’re delighted to welcome the return of our previously sold-out Secret Lesbian and Queer History of Dublin 1 Walking Tour, led by historian MARY MCAULIFFE. This tour explores the rich lesbian and queer history right on the Gate Theatre’s doorstep.

DUBLIN GAY MEN’S CHORUS – On 22nd June, Dublin Gay Men’s Chorus (DGMC) join us for two performances. Established in 2012, Dublin Gay Men’s Chorus is one of the finest choirs in Ireland, showcasing the unique sound of an all-male choir. Led by Music Director, Duncan Brickenden, DGMC prides itself on both musical excellence and a diverse approach to repertoire, while also providing a safe, inclusive community for gay men in Ireland. The concerts will feature a carefully curated programme of pieces spanning a variety of genres, from vibrant pop anthems to reflective, poignant songs in honour of this momentous milestone.
