Arts Council Paying the Artist Policy
The Arts Council launched its Paying the Artist Policy in February 2020. This policy was created to acknowledge that pay is contributor to the precariousness of artists’ lives and to recognise that if artists are not appropriately remunerated for their work, a career within the arts is not viable.
This policy established key principles that could be adopted across all arts areas and create a framework for future arts-area specific policies, interventions or campaigns.
